Did you know that it’s almost Halloween? While pumpkin spice everything and lawn inflatables may have been staring you down for weeks now, if your decor is still late to the game, all is not lost. I’m sharing last minute festive decor ideas for all effort levels – from an all-out spooky tablescape to a low key option that can transition to thanksgiving. I sourced items to recreate these looks from Amazon Prime and Target so you can get them quickly! I also reference many fresh items from Trader Joe’s because let’s just face it, Trader Joe’s + Fall = amazing.

Effort Level – Medium. You might have to get out the step stool for this one – but boy, is it worth it. Adding a flying trail of bats to your windows, mantle or above your shelving is just the right spooky and minimalist touch. Make sure you apply the bats at the same angle to keep things less cluttered. By the way, do you have a bat dealer? Effort Level – High. It’s not too late to throw the spooky glam party of your Halloween dreams (or nightmares.) First things first – shop your house. Do you have a fancy bowl or cake stand you never use? Comb through your house for items you can piece together in an eclectic tablescape. And don’t forget the candle holders – the more the scarier. Arrange found items down the center of your table with black candles, dark and moody pumpkins (faux or spray paint some orange real ones!), gold skulls – and for an easy cost-effective touch, dark candy! I hit up Trader Joe’s and grabbed their black licorice treads and non pareils (aka fancy dark chocolate snow drops) and put them on display in glassware on the table. Once the table is set, add cobwebs and you’re good to go.

Effort Level – Low. It’s the most wonderful time of the year – when eucalyptus is a plenty at Trader Joe’s! If you haven’t already, RUN there and buy them out. Eucalyptus is great because you can dry it and extend it’s decor life. I also love the pumpkin sticks that Trader Joe’s has this time of year – have you seen them? Spoiler alert, they are actually ornamental eggplant, not teeny pumpkins. For a more modern take on the usual fall centerpiece, pair your pumpkin sticks and eucalyptus in a low, rectangular or oval vase. Select pumpkin sticks that don’t have many “pumpkins” low on the branches. Place them diagonally in the vase and layer in trailing pieces of eucalyptus. Make sure all of the stems are touching water!

Effort Level – V v Low. If you’re not really a Halloween Gal and really just like to decorate for the fall season as a whole – I feel you. Head to Trader Joe’s immediately and cross your fingers they still have white pumpkins. Buy as many white pumpkins as you can. Take items you already have decorating your house like cute baskets and wooden bowls and pile them full of white pumpkins. Don’t have any cute decorative pieces to load with pumpkins? Whatever effort you’re willing to put forth for seasonal decorating, remember it’s always a good idea to style with pieces that complement the decor and color scheme of your home.
