It’s been awhile since the doors have been open for entertaining out of town guests. While I’m just finishing up the final decor touches on spaces in my new home, I know many are trying to bring their homes back up to speed for hosting company. So I’m sharing some trendy home decor finds that I personally snagged to complete my playroom as well as a few extra mood boards of cute things I found that might help you tie some spaces together in your home!
I wanted this space (used primarily by my kids) to feel cohesive with the rest of our house, but with a youthful and colorful vibe. Clean lines with a nostalgic feel – I believe the look I’m trying to achieve is called “Modern Americana.” I wanted trendy pieces that were fun and casual – so I looked to Walmart’s home section. I curated these items based on cuteness (duh) but also on how well they flow from the rest of my home. The chambray pillows and floor pillow feel youthful and masculine, but have a touch of the stripes and grey you find throughout my home. The tan windowpane check pillows are SO soft (my boys love to snuggle them!) but the pattern is very high-end and of-the-moment. The cute wooden tabletop games provide that slight touch of nostalgia I was going for in the room, and are “always out” for my boys to play with (decor that doubles as a toy is always a win in my book!)
But let’s talk about the table. I looked high and low for a small, affordable, sturdy coffee table and found the PERFECT one at Walmart. I wanted the boys to have a hard surface with rounded edges to be able to play with games, legos and have a place to set their snacks. This mid-tone wood pedestal coffee table is right on trend and the perfect finishing touch to this “Modern Americana” playroom.
While I was browsing – I found SO many great options on Walmart for home decor items that I just had to put together a few more looks. Check out the trendy casual moodboards below – which one is your favorite?
Be sure to check out Walmart‘s amazing selection of home, patio and tabletop items to get your house ready for hosting, embrace summer and more. You can create a cohesive and “finished” space without breaking the bank with just a few small coordinating (but never matchy-matching) accessories! I have accepted monetary compensation and free product or services from Walmart in exchange for my endorsement of Walmart. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
