2022 Project Roadmap

January 2022 (aka the longest month in the history of mankind) is finally over. And we are finally feeling a little more organized, healthy and in tune with the projects we want to complete for the first half of the year. Life with 3 kids under 4 years old is hectic, to say the least, and there isn’t too much “free time” to spare. So Kenny and I decided to really keep it simple in 2022, and focus on one project a month. I know you might be thinking- didn’t you just build this house!? How do you have projects already? But the thing is, we were very strategic when building to stay up on budget. So we always had a few phase 2 plans up our sleeves! Keep reading to see what’s In store for Craven Haven through June!

January was all about organization and planning. And February is all about the office! We moved the boys into the same room and Merritt upstairs so we could use her downstairs nursery as it was originally intended – as our office. I’ll share way more in the coming weeks, but will share a quick mood board with you now. Get ready for a 9 foot floating wood desk, custom DIY cabinetry and yes, the moths are staying!

Since we got our sectional, our living room layout has gone through some growing pains. I finally have a pretty good grasp on how the space is gonna shape out and the changes needed – and March is all about making those happen. What’s on tap? A new area rug, DIY nesting coffee tables, some gallery wall tweaking, and overall styling.

In April, baby girl is going to get a new nursery! I’ve had an antique armoire from my mom in storage for years that I’ve dreamed of refinishing and using in a little girl’s room. And I have an idea of the wallpaper I’m going to use – but the rest of the room is going to be a colorful surprise.

Did you sneak a peek at the stone in the living room moodboard? And how about that inspo shot above? Well that’s part of the entryway plan, and it’s going down in May. Bringing the outdoors in has always been an objective of ours for this H-shaped house, and extending the stone from the entryway exterior will be a big step.

By the time June hits, we will be ready to eat outdoors again – and Kenny has his heart set on making us a new outdoor table and some storage benches for all of the kids deck toys.  We really want our patio flow to be cohesive and functional like the inspo shot above. And just like that – 2022 will be halfway over. What project are you looking forward to seeing the most? Can’t wait to bring you along!
